New member has question about 2006 Civic MPG
Hi,
I'm strongly considering buying a new 2006 Civic LX or EX, and have a question. Honda claims 30/38 MPG with the 140 hp engine. When I went to the dealer yesterday, I picked up a Motor Trend phamplet that the dealership had proudly laid out on the brochure table. It's titled "Car of the Year - The All-New Honda Civic".
One thing that concerned me is that the MPG that was recorded in their testing was 20.6, not close to the 30/38 MPG stated by Honda.
Any thoughts/comments? What's the real world MPG that members are getting with their 2006 non-Si Civics?
Crude hit an all-time record today, closing over $75/gallon.
Thanks much,
Hans in Atlanta

RE: New member has question about 2006 Civic MPG
I have had my 2006 EX Coupe for about a month and have 1200 miles on it so far and I am getting about 31 miles to the gallon mostly rural area's but not highway miles either.I am hopeing it will increase as the car continues to break in.So far I have no complaints with it at all,and its way better than my jeep would ever get.
