I signed up today and looking for help with my problemed 98 Civic DX Coupe. Y'all look like you can help so please help me. I busted the door handle off of the drivers side and need to replace it. The stealer wants 125 bucks labor + 35 bucks for the handle to fix it and I refuse to pay that much for a darn handle. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to remove the window crank. Does the speaker need to be removed? How is that removed? Thanks.

Edit: I've found two post in the General Tech Help but they both are referring to power windows, unfortunately I have manual windows.

 

ok you are trying to take off the window crank so that you can get the door pannel off?...i think all u have to do is remove a "C" clip behind the crank...just use a screwdriver and pop it off ad then pull the crank off

 

if u dont have a haynes manual, i suggest u get one, and do it yourself.
by the way, welcome to the forum.

 

Take off the window crank and then take out the speaker then remove the door panel. After that remaove the plastic fromm the back of the door then look to se where the bolts and clips are should be very easy. Three is a couple of plastic clip typr thing that hold the door handle to the mechincal parts of handle DONT BREAK THEM. Go to a junk yard to get the hendle off of a hit driver door.
