Exclamation Newb here!

So I just got a 95 Civic DX to drive back and forth to work and I love this little car. Wanting to know what I can do to up a little power on a manual 1.5 while keeping great gas mileage....any thoughts would be appreciated! Oh and my other ride is an 01 Ford Lightning on 14lbs of boost so I know all about performance stuff just nothing about these Civics....

Welcome. Post up pics of your rides. (We are friendly to Ford drivers who are friendly to us!)

That little 1.5 liter engine isn't powerful at all. There's not much you can do for it unless you want to boost it. You might be able to squeeze another 3 or 4 horsepower out of it by doing the usual bolt-ons. Header, intake, exhaust. Aside from that, you have to get into building it up for more power.

I'm grown with a wife and kids and a mortgage, there was a time when I would knock any rice-burner I could knock. these days after owning a 97 Civic SI coupe w/a built bottom end and bolt-ons and then just getting my 1.5 for work, not to mention my 04 CBR1000RR I owned for years, I'm proud of Honda for what they are and their quality...my username is just my email for everything from years ago but I knew it would make people on here peek their heads up and expect the worse...no worries here! I love my Honda's AND Ford's! LOL

Oh definitely have to get some before pics on here soon before I start prettying up my lil rusted fender gas sipper...

Those 'Heatons' as we call them on Lightningrodder.com are ok but I definitely can't wait to port and polish my spare I have that has an aftermarket upper intake on it. Should be close to 500 flywheel hp then....now just to make my Civvy suck and blow efficiant and freshen her up for DD duty. Ohhhh priorities!
