Default newb from WI here

Hey I'm Aaron 31 from WI. Just acquired a 95 civic ex. Has 199,000 + and is a auto. It has its normal scratches and front bumper banged up and rust holes in the rear quarters and a v-tec under hood. I beleive it has bad inner tie rod end bad and the spedo works when it wants to grr. I am not very familiar with hondas used to dodge neon I hope you don't hate me for that. I think will plan on doing it up some maybe little more hp and get rid of the steelies but right not I'll get some ideas get all the probs fixed with it and go from there to hi everyone

you said your speedometer only works when it wants to, ( i had same problem) but do either the tripometer or the odometer work? (as in: do they work even when your speedometer's not workin?)

oh so when ones workin they both work. and when one dont work... none work? (lol)

then that sounds like a problem from the VSS (vehicle speed sensor).
you might want to check it out and clean it. it could be sticking or something.
the VSS is sitting on top of the transmition. its held in place by to screws...

yay, one less neon on the road, welcome to HCF.

Did you just get the civic now during the cold weather up north? In my old escort the speedometer would not work when it was extremely cold out unless I warmed up the car for a while before driving, then it worked fine.
