hi, anyone have any advice on road noise reduction thats inexpensive (i.e. NOT "dynamat")?

i have a 95 vx and i cant hear myself think when i'm on the freeway. HELP ME PLEASE!

 

Where's the noise coming from? Suspension? Interior rattle?

 

the noise seems to be ambient, coming from the engine, tires, suspension etc. i'm thinking about putting some sort of sound deadening material under the carpet and in the doors, etc. but i dont want to spend a fortune.

 

older civics aren't renowned for their quietness. the noises get louder as the car gets older.

short of getting new, quieter tires and sound deadening the entire cabin, there's not much you can do.

 

put a bunch of pillows in the back and passenger seat. it'll help deaden the sound and if u get into an accident, it'll make for a soft hit[8D]. but seriously, ya theres really not all that much u can do other than dynamat or w/e.

 

Yep, Dynamat would help. You'd probably be surprised what a big difference a brand new set of touring tires would make. Hopefully you don't have a hub bearing gone out. Good luck...
