should I change the aut. trans. fluid?
I once chaged the transmission fluid on my BMW right around 175k and the trans. went south. I bought my 98 civic at around 112k and it has now 118. The guy was the second owner and did not know if the fluid had been changed or not. The fluid does seem to have a clear color and not red. Is it okay if I change it, and can I do it myself? Thanks Guys

it wouldnt hurt to change it---but if u do ---use "gunuine honda" fluid or if u use regular ATF make sure u add a "friction modifier "to it (most part stores have it)

go to your local automotive store and pick up a haynes repare manual, there really cheap like $15 and it tells you EVERYTHING on how to do things, so its kinda like your car bible...and i havent really looked at that part but i skimmed through and it seems pretty easy..welcome![sm=hiya.gif][sm=hiya.gif]

drian plug is on right side of car --bottom / side of trans 3/8 square ---take a ratchet --unscrew it & drain it
put the plug back in
fill up the tranny ---yellow dipstick----behind the starter--sort of ---start with 2.5 qts of fluid
start it up & run it thru the gears (with your foot on the brake)
shut it off --pull out the dipstick --see how if u have to add any more --
if so add a little at a time--
