Well Well..
how's it going folks. i'm dustin, from tallahassee, florida.. about a week and a half ago, i bought a 1988 civic dx hatchback, d15, mpfi conversion, si interior, rust spot, etc. for 1k. after driving for a day, the clutch ripped its self apart. i mean the pressure plate side has NO material on it. it literally ripped off. so, for the past 3 days, i've been trying to do a clutch in my driveway on jackstands, with hand tools.. i have to say, it sucks. a lift would make it easier, but so would power tools. anyways. the car is an ed6, b-35m blue, and the car was lots of fun to drive when it ran i just decided to join up because i've always been active on auto forums for my previous cars, such as the sentra, 240sx, escort, and bmw 325.. so, i'm hoping the people here are actually knowledgeable, and able to help me out, and maybe i can return the favor.

sadly, no. i have to remove the flywheel tomorrow, and then take it to get resurfaced. i'm really hoping that it'll go faster putting it back together, but with my lack of organizational skills, i'm sure i'll be wondering where some bolts went. i have to admit though. it was surprisingly easy to get the transmission out, after you fight with everything else. but, thank god parts are cheap and plentiful. otherwise, i'd kick my own *** for selling the bmw. it was a wiring nightmare, but jesus christ was it fun.. i'm hoping the civic will be as fun with a nice d16 in it.. maybe one day you'll see a build thread from me. i'm already planning a single cam terror for the car..

all i have to say is thank god for air tools.. we got the flywheel off last night, and took it to the machine shop this morning. the car runs and drives fantastically, but i have to baby the clutch for a while, which isn't my style at all.. one of my friend's calls me vin diesel when i get behind the wheel.. but that's just because i shift REALLY fast, and launch kind of hard.. the car handles beautifully for being 19 years old, with worn out suspension. now i just have to replace a LOT of bulbs.. and maybe try to get everything to line up. the car has door sag like you wouldn't believe..
