Ok, so I saw that there are now aftermarket low compression pistons for the d17. Could these be helpful in making a d17 worth putting a turbo on? Assuming that you would use a standalone ECU, could this help crank the hp up past 200? (Thanks sticky for your info about options for boosting an 01-05)

 

I am sure you can push more than 200 whp out of the block before it starts to fail.

 

With stock pistons?

 

I sure the stock pistons can handle 200whp. I would suggest to read up on what numbers other people/cars made.

That is not a full AEM ECU. That is just a fuel and ignition controller. Basically an AEM piggy back system. Research that before you do anything.

 

i boosted my 98 ej8 with the aem fic, it works great.
