Default Block gaurd question

hey guys i have a question im gonna get a block gaurd for my d-series and want to know how you install them, do they just fall down to the bottom around the piston skirts or do they fit snuggly/flushly around the top of the cyclinders, and how to they stay put from moving everywere?

I have one installed in my newly built d16 but I had a shop do it when they installed the turbo pistons/rods so I can't tell ya, but if I have an extra minute tomorrow I'll call the shop and ask them.

its a machined brace that is one peice that goes around your piston skirts and helps from sleep walk

I think they are pointless and that they hurt more than help.
