The whole idea of a BOV is to prevent compressor surge once the throttle body slams shut.....Putting the bov on the other side is not going to releave the pressure as quickly and the turbo will get some surge. (for noobs, compressor surge is when there is no blow off valve......and since the throttle body shuts the air tries to escape somewhere, and eventually makes its way back to the compressor side of the turbo and stops it from spinning, and tries to spin it the other way. This wears down the turbo faster and will cause more shaft play. Thats why we use BOV's

captain smartness cant cant do it because that would require an even longer tube to vent my bov back into my intake tract[8D] and thanks for the explanation, i always wondered about that. i guess its a give and take situation to where you place your bov.
