Bolt on turbo kit question.....
Finally saved enough for the Edelbrock kit....ordered it, and should be getting it here either this Friday or Monday. Very excited. Anyways, according to the nice folks at Edelbrock, it's safe to run their kit with the included tune, as it's designed for a stock Civic. Truthfully, I know exactly jack and sh*t about tuning, so my question is this: *IS* it safe to run the included tune? If so, and if it's time sensitive, for how long? If not, can someone point me towards a spot somewhere by me that can do a tune (a good one)? Because the only place close to me that had a dyno just closed down for reasons unknown, and I can't seem to find a place that can do that stuff close to me (I'm on Fort Stewart, Georgia..about 40 mins. from Savannah). Due to all of the field exercises, ranges, and other "get ready for deployment" crap I can't really get any significant amount of time to drive to BFE to get a tune. Thanks in advance for the help.
run it until you can take it to a proffessional Dyno, have it dyno tuned just for safety measure, i dont trust edelbrock, i ran edelebrock carbs on all my gasser C10s and they always had problems, i dont imagine their tune is much trust worthy.
Hmm...I posted it here mainly because it was a turbo kit-related question, and I know that posting stuff in the wrong board is frowned upon. But I guess it's also an ECU / tuning question. Ahhh......so confusing
I'll try it in the ECU/Tuning board. Thx!
EDIT: I've posted this question in the ECU/Tuning/Fuel Management section. I've also realized that I need to change my signature.
