manuel you have to manualy crank a bolt to add or decrease boost electronic are usually in cabin and can be done via touch screen and also many other functions a manual cannot therefore the jump from 70 for a manual and 400 for electronic

electronics are more reliable than manuals as well, but electronics are a lot easier to turn up.

Electronic isn't anymore reliable than the manual. Just make sure you get a name brand. I have a turbo xs hpbc. It has two screw adj. one for coarse adj. one for fine. If your wastegate has a 7psi spring then yes you will need a boost controller to up the boost. Or if you want to take your wastegate apart and change the spring to a 9psi spring you could do that as well. It'll be easier to just use the boost controller. Both the electronic and manual do the samething. They hide the pressure from the wastegate by bleeding off some of it. So when your running 9psi your wastegate is only seeing 7 psi.

What? I thought turbos just do there own thing all the time and it just goes by how much gas you give the engine.

If you didn't have a wastegate it would. But it would depend on the turbo what the max boost was. Maybe 20-45 psi.

my bad 96civic. i just was told that electronics were more reliable than a manual because it is easier for a turbo to spike when you use a manual.
