Default BOV Installation

So i found this picture and it helped a little in explaining my question (lol disregard the "epoxy" )

So my question is how far below the surface of the charge piping can the BOV adapter plate sit? Do you want it as close to the surface as possible? And will there be a loss in performance if the adapter plate is farther into the charge piping?

No part of the blow off valve goes into the charge pipe. You weld the flange on, and the blow off valve screws into it.

The flange is cut to the shape of the intercooler pipe so it doesn't go into it.

just try to make it flush as possible without it going into the charge piping, but it doesn't really matter, pressure is pressure, as long as the welds are strong, and the bov is removable, you'll be one happy camper.
