If you start doing mods on a NA motor you are going to lose power until you actually add boost. Ive known way to many people that started building their motor for turbo and never actually boosted it. Get the good turbo mods once you actually have the turbo in your possesion.

i think i might go with turboing the d16, and if budget allows put in new pistons, intercooler, and bov. i just think it would be too much fun, because i long for that PPSSSHHHHHT after a shift. i think i may try and weasel my parents into paying for a b16 swap thought as a graduation present. i've already convinced my dad its a good idea, because an engine with less miles would last me through college. and if they went along with it, i'd aready have a turbo setup with just a few new parts i'd need to aquire

ORIGINAL: pcupo12

i was refering to the person who said u should get headers....because u and i both kno headers are useless with a turbo....
Quoting you again

First, it is header, headers means 2.

Second let me tell you a header on a turbo isnt worthless, it makes an amzing difference in spool up

i think the confusion in that was that you're calling that a header and we're calling it a turbo manifold. he means that a normal header would be pointless to buy because i would be replacing it with a turbo manifold

I understand what you mean but that is not a manifold it is infact a turbo header. The one in the pic you posted would obviously be rendered useless with a turbo but that is still what I suggest for you. Im just calling pcup out cause he told me I know nothing about turbos when in fact he was oh so very wrong

As for the topic, I still vote for gsr

Something else to think about is the cost when it all goes up. It is like $300 to buy a complete D16 block when it wipes out the pistons from over boost. I don't know what a B16 block will cost, but I know it's a lot more then $300.

I'm going on Eng #3 (D16Y8) but this time putting out the bucks for pistons and rods. Apparently, a stock D16 block can't handle 9PSI and 208 at the wheels.

So keep it under 9PSI and you should be alright.

Just my 2 cents

I wonder if it's possible to sleeve the D16. That would be awesome...
