i have an 01 Civic LX that i want to turbo, because as i'm sure you all know i dont even have vtec and my car is slow as sh*t. I'v spend about $15,000 on the car already i have a bodykit on it, F1 fenders, 18" chrome mr7, TV's, leather, you name it i got it. But anyway i finaly have $2,500 saved and i was thinking about turboing it because it's about time i did a performance upgrade. I seen some kits on ebay for about $1,000 i was wondering if it's worth buying that and putting it on? If you guys could give me some advice it would be great.

 

You want advice? Dont turbo it. The D17 is the red headed step child of the D series, and doesnt like boost too much. Save up another 2500 and get a K20. Seriously. Until then, spray it til ya blow it.

 

Wow really? Thanks i was gonna buy the turbo on ebay in a few days. Could you tell me where i could get the k20 engine and everything i need to convert it?

 

I have another question pete by does not like turbo much what do you mean? i wont get the HP gains? it will shorten the life of the engine? because i'v been looking into it and a full swap will be over 10k with everything i need and installation. I really dont mind not getting massive HP as long as i get some and the engine wont be affected i'd get it. also want it for the sound my car is more for show then go anyway.
