Just get a compression test and leakdown test done if you want to use your motor. If it's healthy you can go up to 180whp without haveing to worry about the internals (atleast for awhile). Have you ridden in a daily driven civic with over 200whp? Even 150whp in a civic will feel powerful compared to what 105whp stock?

I/H/E/upgrade throttle body, high flot cat, ported head, yeah I'm sure you can get 200 whp.

good luck getting over 200 whp out of a b16a2

wouldn't a port and polish alone help open things up, maybe 30 or so hp. It puts out like 140 or 150 whp right?
to end argument, just boost the b16 and upgrade the rest if you want lol

i actually talked directly to a guy that ports heads for a profession and told me it'd get around 15.
But i've heard good things about both GReddy and Edelbrock kits, although piecing a kit together would be cheaper, but no matter what turbo setup you have, an OBD1 tune is the way to go for engine/fuel managemnt.

RE: greddy turbo kit for d16
200whp is doable in a B16, it is just expensive. Thats why everyone always goes boost instead but when it comes to boost vs n/a with the same hp, the n/a motor is going to win. Someone on d-series.org has an n/a d16 with ITB's and a crower stage 3 cam (I don't know his full setup) and is making 173whp so I don't see why it would be so hard to make less than 30 more with a b16. It just depends on how much you are willing to spend...

RE: greddy turbo kit for d16
I have the Greddy kit on my Z6. the e-manage makes it runs rich as hell. but i think that can be cleared up with a dyno tune or the proper software and a laptop. idk.
I'm happy with it but I'm only running 5 lbs of boost I want to adjust it to7 lbs but didn't want to go though the trouble of gettinga boost controller. traction will be an issue. Say goodbye to 1st gear and part of 2nd. ha!
Anybody know how to adjustthe internal wastegate on the TD04?

I have the greddy turbo setup as well, I agree with the whole E-manage is a piece of ****, I had it on, had it tuned in san diego, and it still ran rich as hell. I fouled my high flow cat up, and burnt out my o2 sensor because of it. I ditched it, and went with a F-Con V-Pro, which i don't reccomend if your on a budget, but if you have some money to throw into your car it is the way to go. The major downfall to it, is it has to be tuned professionally, but it has the option of so many upgrades down the road. If your looking for a full on kit, i think the edelbrock one is probably the better one to go with. I haven't heard any complaints about it.

The b16 has about 140whp, it's going to be tough and expensive to get 200whp with the mods you mention. Going that route, you will end up paying more than what it cost to get a d16 in the low 300whp[&:]
turbo setup~ 1,200
Piston and rods ~500
Good 300 whp tune ~500
vs.
B16 ~ last I remember a decentlow milage was around 2,500 (not including the motor mounts and axles)
Headers~ about 200
intake~ 100
tune~500
plus the port polish
In the end it would be more expensive than just boosting the d16. Yes the b16 has more pontential than a d16 but for a daily driver more than 300whp is useless on the street.
