So you have a non-vtec EX?

Look here, and let us know exactly what it says..

not all VTEC engine say it right on the block i dont htink, and i've never heard of a non-VTEC EX. The 96 EX is a y8, so i dont know hwy you wouldnt have VTEC.

but as for the turbo kit, i say go name brand, not a generic ebay kit.

The only way to tell for sure, is to follow what forty said. Just look at the engine code on the block. Mind you this code is strictly the bottom end, and is not conclusive of what the head is.

sorry to resurect this thread.. i checked with my niece (the previous owner of the car) and she said...

'i took the vtec out because i blew the motor'..

now.. i lived with her for the entirety of her having the car.. and never once did she have to take it to a shop to get it fixed...

so im not sure what to make of it.

Huh? In your first post, you said you wanted to turbo your car. Did the vtec issue change your mind?

I would take it to mean she blew the original vtec motor (Y8), and swapped in a non-vtec (Y7 perhaps, who knows), probably because that was what was available to her for cheap. That looks like she kept the Y8 intake manifold though.
