was bringing in the Garrett t3/t04e bb turbo yesterday to get some bolts for it for the dump and mani etc... and i finally screwed around with it just playing with it and when i wiggled it, the son of a B**** had shaft play, its absolutly horrible...

or am i compeltely wrong and about 1/16 of shfat play on this particular bb turbo is acceptable? i wouldnt think so but god willing please let it be so lol. $975 of crap if it does.. omg

im sure garrett will fix the mess, but i dont want to go through the headache of it all.. and im so freakin close to finally finishing this car

Well a little movement is ok. Remember heat makes stuff expand and oil may fill in most of the gap. Are we talking a slight tic or play?

 

try to measure the shaft play to see if it is too excessive....... and how much boost are you planning on running.... if only 5-8 i'd say you'll be ok..... for a while, lol....
