Default pre build research

Ok so heres the deal I'm just getting into the game but I'm going all out right away!! I'm doing all the suspension roll cage etc but i want to know the specs of the engine to know what ill need. now if it helps I can get together a better list of what i have picked out so far but basically I want to know how much hp on estimate will I be able to get out of my b16 without doing much bottom end work? I've heard 400-450 but I've also heard 800+ and because I wanna do as much as I can all at once and get (for the most part) as much power as i can it would help to know a rough estimate on the numbers for hp and torque if anyone can help that would be great.

P.S sorry bout the grammar =)

PP.S also plan on doing a turbo and intercooler nitrous application

I think i've heard you don't want to go over 350 with stock internals... but I could be wrong. 450 sounds kinda high though

Oh, I don't know the recommended limit then. Probably pretty high

Just comparing motors by size won't give you an accurate assumption of the power you'll make. I wouldn't lay down more than 300 on a stock b16 bottom end and head, and that's realllllly pushin in to the edge. Expect a like reliable 250. And you say you want to cage, why? Planning on being a pro track racer? If you are just getting in the "game", don't go all out right away. Do some research, learn some things. Don't just jump in and think you'll be able to make a street beast. Odds are you'll blindly get in to things you shouldn't have and spend unneccesary money. Don't rush in to things like this lol.

Thanks and this is why I am here so that I can do my research befor spending loads on something that won't work and as of now I'm planning on doing just engine work and do as much as possible straight off I plan on putting many years into my build but I want to have a good idea where I'm going and what I want and can achieve befor I start so I don't do something stupid and I'm just getting into the building part but I've been racing fr six years now just have never had a car of my own which is why I want to skip the whole baby steps thing cuz I arady have for the most part the racing experience. And I plan on getting as much power as possible into the car and will have to cage so I can cage the engine bay to prevent my frame from bending and crumpling underthe load
