Default The right turbo?

Ok im sure there is a thread about this somewhere, and yes i did look so sorry if this is a repeat, but i have a 99' civic DX with yes the 1.6 SOHC. Now the best cheapest way for power would be a cheap turbo. Now im asking if you could post links or pictures/names of turbos that work for this engine. Im pretty sure the D16 somes but not positive. Any advice works thanks guys.

Almost any turbo can work given the right manifold. What really matters is how much money you have, how much power you want etc etc.

Since you stated "cheap turbo", we'll move on to the next question. How much power would you like to gain or end up with?

What are your power goals? and how much are you looking to spend? Cost is the biggest factor. But guesing from what you said you are on a budget so your hp goal should probably be at 200 or just below. I suggest a small t25 turbo. Anyways if you need turbo parts look at my forsale thread in my signature.

^^ Nice croninc. I like the little advertisement for your FS thread. I should have done that. lol

Well, here I go anyways. If you are looking for a t3 turbo manifold that's a/c compatible, check out my FS thread.

Figures. I leave the Pgh area and all the sudden like 5 people from the area join hcf lol

A stock 14b turbo from an eclipse should be fine for a basic setup assuming you don't want to put down ridiculous numbers. It's essentially the same turbo as a T25, and the 14b is extremely common.

Also, the engine you (should, assuming it hasn't been swapped out) have is the d16y7. It should say it on the timing belt cover to the right of the valve cover when you look at the engine from the front of the car.

^ that. (even though they're just trying to make money lol)

For a pieced together turbo setup on a budget, used parts are the best thing you have going for you. And if there's two things that you can definitely safely save money on by buying used, its the turbo itself and the manifold.

ive made a few cheap turbo kits myself
get a vx/hx manifold and seperate use top part of manifold and make a adapter plate form a machine shop to match manifold and turbo bolt on you can buy the oil lines and the "T" need from autozone. the oil return i got from lowes and put a hole in my oil pan myself and added oil return line. for the turbo piping i had a muffler shop make for me and the down pipe and just bought a intercooler from a friend. form there you can upgrade fuel injectors, turbo timer and so on.
