hey guys. i have a stock b16. all it has is intake, short shift and stage 2 clutch. is it safe to run nitrous on it? if not what mods would i have to do to it?

 

make sure you get a wet kit and i wouldnt run over a 75 shot. my friend had a 92 hatch with a LS swap and he put 15 bottles through it before it blew at the track (spun bearing) so if you go with a 50 shot, on top of vtec it would be pretty fun IMO

 

yeah thats the only thing im scared of..if screwing up my engine...maybe i should just save the cash for a turbo

 

a turbo will destroy your engine just as fast as nitrous.

it's increased combustion pressure, one way or the other.

if your engine's not up to task, it's gonna break with either.

 

What if his engine has great compression? Would running it normal (daily driving) still effect the engine's longevity?

 

If you drive it normally it shouldn't make the turbo spool up all the way so your not getting all the wear on your engine instead of racing it around and putting strain on the motor.

 

so what internals would i have to do to make my car campatable for nitrous

nitrous is as safe as the tuner.........the user has to understand what to look for and what to do.
