excluding the Vortec dyno because they do not deem it fit to post this info for you to look at.
because centrifugal SCs have a crappy powerband. all the downfalls of an SC, with the crap low-end of a turbo. better throttle response than a turbo I guess, but i would never buy a centrifugal SC.

oh, and for a fair comparison, Greddy 18G kit on si
160fwhp--------193WHP oh, on only 5-6 psi.

It may seem as if I am bias but I really aint, I am just a very informed enthusiest that knows a few things about this and that. I can honestly take a D series with a custom setup and crush a RSX-S with a JRSC on stock boost settings. And yes it is fair to compare a $3000 supercharger setup to a $3000 turbo setup, money is money say I am your average consumer, I would not care how much R & D has went into anything aslong as it fits, is reliable, and makes power. That is what it boils down to. Also on the "turbo lag" thing ha if you know what your doing with turbo selection it is not a problem and on top of that I for one think it is counter productive to even have good tq numbers low in the rpm range on any fwd car. The fwd chassis has it's limitations and low speed traction is a big one, why in the world would you focus on highlighting that flaw. Use the chassis for what it is good for and that is mid to high range hp not tq.

exactly. with just a few bolt-ons on my b18c, i have plenty of traction problems. as the cam changes over, it breaks traction and spins them to redline, so it would just do it from a lower RPM. even a turbo would be a huge traction problem for me. im sticking to NA for now, and im hoping that an LSD will keep it together through first.

What tires do you use sac? Jw. And you're primarily auto-x right? I assume these traction problems you're having are mainly going through and coming out of turns..?

BTW here is a lil food for thought 2 more dyno's

First a FMAX kit on a bone stock D16Z6 reading a 12.5 to 1 air/fuel ratio under full boost $3399.66

Second a Jackson Racing RSX Type S Race Supercharger System - w/Hondata K-Pro Programmable $3495

Holy crap that is a bottom of the line single over head cam 10+ year old 1.6l engine that stock puts down around 110 to 113whp stock vs a "holier than though all bow down to the new honda platform" K20 that is DOHC, 2.0l, and rated at around 160 or so whp stock.

Dunlop FM 901s. I need to go to a 16" wheel to get a little wider tires, that would help a lot, and around a corner its a lot worse, but even in a straight line, it burns them from 5700 on up in first and sometimes second. when i get an LSD it will be a lot better, esp for cornering.

I am as unbiased as it comes. I drive a SC'ed car and actually think turbos are a good idea.

Yes, you could probably piece together a turbo kit, or get a used one for around $1000, but the price of a JRSC kit and the price of a new GReddy turbo kit are comparable.

Greddy stock 5th gen kit- $2,055.00 (no intercooler, BOV, fuel management, or boost controller)

JRSC stock 5th gen kit- $1,995.00 (FMUincluded)

Ease of installation- advantage JRSC
Engine safety- JRSC (doesn't use engine oil, no chance for overboost)
Ability to upgrade- GReddy +1+1+1=+!=+!=1=!=111=+!+! (but we are talking about stock kits here)

What are we talking about here? Boost. 6psi = 6psi. You build a 6pound turbo car and I will build a 6pound SC car and I will hand you your buttocks at the AutoX, on the street, and at the strip. and then Sac will come whoop both of us NA.

ps- B16A swap- $ 1199
