I know no one said that but sov said it would be a waste. Does anyone have any piston suggestions or cam, valve, springs, retainers, etc suggestions? Would 450cc injectors be good for my goals w/ a Walbro 255lhp fuel pump? And how does a 25T or TD04H turbo sound?

It's not a waste if you do it right, ie build way cheap. Stock rods, OEM pistons of desired compression, walbro pump, dsm injectors, T25 or 14B turbo, CX/VX/STD manifold + adapter plate, Z6 head/IM (Z6 block preferably as well), zex cam, Z6 or equivalent ECU, DIY street tune via Crome. That's 200-250whp for 700-900 bucks. Cheap is the only way to go on Hondas imo.

ok well as ive been asking many different people on here which direction i should go ive gotten many different responses. Some say mini me, some say build the y7, some say swap a whole new motor, etc. and since i really want a dependable daily driver ive decided to stick with my y7. I looked at riceburner700's y7 build and I think im going to try to follow that and build up my y7 and eventually swap to a 96-00 EX tranny. So im really open to suggestions on what to do to the engine and what products to go with. Kedawei why do you say go with stock rods and OEM pistons? jw

I didn't say it was a waste to turbo the Y7, I said building the Y7 and then making 220whp out of it was a waste. You can do it easily on stock block, even easier if you do a minime. You just need a good tune.

Ah, my fault. That makes sense.

Just fyi, I now know of 5 Y-series engines that have burnt up bearings in their bottom end, and I'm sure I'd know of more if I had been in the Honda scene long enough and/or deeply enough. That is why I said "Z6 block preferably as well." The Y series might work fine with oil flow modifications, but I couldn't say. It might not be worth the risk. Riceburner is just using a Y7 head on a D15 bottom end I believe. I dunno I'm too lazy to check.

As for the OEM rods/pistons, for such low goals that's just what I'd do. If you're really worried about it use Eagle rods/OEM pistons. The rods are the weaker of the two.

OK well this is going to be a hell of a project so im gonna really begin searching for a z6 engine then redo that. Would you think that would be better to turbo? If i rebuilt that with the eagle rods, oem pistons, and either a zex cam and new oem valve springs etc. or the akmee kit what would i be looking at making with a pieced together turbo kit, around 250?

Z6 would be best.

You'd probably make around 200-220 with a T25, and 250-280 with a 14B. T25 will spool much quicker. Just depends what you want from it. There are other turbo options, but none as cheap as these that I know of.
