yea im guessing the t25 would be best for me because i want something thats quick as top end doesnt really matter that much to me. With the z6 would you suggest builing up the top end? Would that akmee kit be good or do you have any other suggestions for that?

The more aggressive the cam the more top end power can be made. With the zex cam you'll make more up top, and can still use stock valvetrain, and the cam itself will be cheaper. Akmee's products look good though and they are well priced. If you need more top end power than the zex can give, get the Akmee kit.

Why do I always hear people say "I don't care about top end."

That's a problem, you drive a Civic, all you have to work with is top end...

Power on tap (ie quick spool) is handy for a road racer. But I agree with ya. Even with a quick spooler you need to extend that power as much as you can get it to.

I'll agree that I have a pretty late spool compared to what most people want, but IMO a turbo that spools at 2500-3000 and is dead by 6000 is useless on a Honda. Low end spool promotes detonation and wheel spin and as far as I'm concerned, if you're road racing and anywhere under 4500rpms you really need to learn how to drive.

I, personally, would never go smaller than a T3 super60 .63AR. Sticking with T3 exhausts keeps your options open as well, as you can run anything from a T3 .42/48 to a T3/T4 Hybrid.

Like I said, it's all IMO, I went from having a supercharger with instant torque and instant boost to a turbo that spools at 5K and is an utter top end monster. I prefer the amazing top end that my car has, and as pretty much every tuner will ever tell you, "beware of low RPM and high load."

Then again, not everyone has the same goals as me and putting such a big turbo on a car designed for 200whp is a huge waste of money. You need to determine what you want out of the engine, and pick a turbo that is going to get you there and then some. Like I said, T3 Super60 or T3 60/63 would be a great choice for you honestly, it gives you a good solid starting point and leaves you with the option to expand to a larger turbo if you deem it necessary.

For what you get standard Garrett turbos haven't seemed worth the price from what I've seen. Imo, go cheap or go big, ie mitsu or GT series. You know more about this junk than I though Sov.
