Why would my radiator blow at idle?

a fan relay? Ben, you disappoint me. You could have diagnosed that yourself and you didn't tell us your stupid fan didn't work...

This would be the first time in my experience on Civic forums where a bad fan relay caused this type of problem. The culprit is generally a bad coolant temperature switch on the thermostat housing.

A bad coolant temperature switch on the thermostat housing is what casued my fan not to switch on.

I can see how it can be a fan relay, but this tard didn't bother saying "oh, by the way guys, my fan doesn't come on"

I understand how a bad fan relay would prevent the fan from running. I was saying that, based on my experience, it seems rare, making me wonder whether a bad relay was really the cause.

But yeah, I expected more from Flip.

well the fan was running when my car when was running originally, i went back inside, heard my roomate yell, ran outside and shut it off really quickly becasue it was steaming, i didn't have a chance to start it up agaisnt since it was so low on coolant before it went to the shop or else i'm pretty sure i woulda noticed the fan not going lol

but anyway.....its fixed and good, Ron i clearly woulda fixed it myself, but i am frustrated and over it and if i woulda known it was just a relay, well, you get the idea. Thanks for the help though guys

I hope it's all good now and the overheating doesn't have any long term repercussions.
