Would you do this?
Ok if a friend of yours had a D16y7 with around 106XXX miles on the motor which included the tranny, ECU, and axles for around 250 or so, and you could get a TD05H turbo with manifold for around 100 what would you do. How would you build the motor for boost any info or ideas would help thanx.

I'm building my D16Y7 right now for boost, first look into a mini me swap, you'll get vtec and some better power right off the bat, go with a z6 cylinder head and intake or Y8, i'v ebeen told its easier to tune the Z6 and over all it'll perform smoother, also you'll find more parts for the z6 cam wise. But before anything do a leakdown test/a compression test to make sure all the rings hold and the motor isnt going to just flop under boost. you wont need the ECU because you'll be swapping it in the mini me conversion, then i recommend new gaskets which you'll be doing anyways and ARP head studs to keep the head from rising off the block under boost.
thats all i can think of but im sure more people will chirp in, sounds like a sweet deal but see if you can do a compression test before paying him the money.
