It is actually doing really well. Just did some mods on it: headers back, external wastegate, tgv deletes, bigger injectors....and running on e85. Needs moar tuning, I've started to learn more about tuning so that will help out. Forty drove it so he can attest to how obnoxiously loud and how it has some potential. 300 whp 320 wtq

Well I would hope so, being that it's an STi and whatnot

Good to hear you're enjoying the car, though... I'm still shooting for getting an '04/'05 in the next year or two.

Yeah those numbers seem a bit conservative to me. If it's not already laying down more power than that, it certainly has the potential to do so.

and yeah, boxer + full exhaust + EWG = soundtrack to the end of the world.

Well it has potential because we have done about 9 hours of tuning on it and we haven't touched the boost yet, so we have a lot to do. We need to add more timing and adjust the cams as well which will help it out. I am shooting for around 370 wtq, lets hope I get there. There are Scooby's out there running 400 wtq on E85 so my goal is not out of the reach by no means.

If I were you I would shoot for a 2005, these are by far the best year of the STis that they have made to date. The 2004 has a weaker transmission and a crappier interior if you ask me.

Shop around and find a good deal on a 2005.....I know someone in my town who would sell a 2005 CGM for a pretty good price.

Love the sound of the whole exhaust and EWG. Just makes the car more obnoxious. I think this next year for my tax return I am going to spend some money to make the car one whole color, but I do like the rice factor on it.

You stay with your UELH, mr. rumble brumble

I don't see why you won't see 370wtq out of it.

And yeah; I'd like the slightly better performance out of the '04, but as tony has already pointed out, it wouldn't exactly make a great DD. I'm sure road noise would get old real quick with no sound deadening. I wouldn't mind an '06-'07, but I think the price would get out of my comfort zone... as it is, I'm not going to exactly enjoy having a car payment.

Hopefully next year's tax returns can be used as a down payment

*edit:

Just did an autotrader search. 120 miles away at a Chevy dealer sits an '04 STi with just over 100k on the clock. They're asking $12k for it. God I wish I had a few thousand dollars sitting around for a down payment.
