Default Blown exhast pipe...again.

My exhaust broke on me again, I thought it was in the same spot but nooooooooooo, that fix is still good. This time it broke ahead of the first break but still behind the cat.

Anyway My car sounds like I have a rice cannon on it, but it still looks and is in fact, stock. And now when I pull up beside people at lights, they hear my exhaust and think I want to race

Its really raspy on WOT, but just cruising it is barley above stock sounding. And if I am above 3kish and am real light on the throttle it actually has a nice smooth sound too it, but any more and it gets all choppy and raspy again. Its only cool when I put in the clutch to shift at 6k rpm cause of the drop in air pressures it sounds like it is backfiring.

This will be fixed soon hopefully (already had to run with it for 2 weeks) but until then I must suffer with my bi-plane, as my friends have nicknamed it.

Here is a link to a video I took today after getting home from school so everything is still nice and Hot. sorry for the wind, that's what I get for living by the lake.

What kind of driving are you doing to break the exhaust pipe twice?

I think it has to do with the fact that my car is a 1997, with 260000km and is a Canadian car, so harsh winters + salt.

On top of that I think it is the origonal downpipe off of the manifold/cat on my Y7. And from my visual inspection it is pretty rusty.

Regardless I plan to do a conversion to a Y8 exhaust setup, I have the header and cat, just need the new catback.

next time you fix it, paint the piping with some high temp spray paint to keep the rust away.
