Budget D16Z6 Turbo Project - Pictures/Info
Hello everyone I haven't been on here in awhile so I thought I would make a project thread to show off what I have been working on all winter long! Im 17 years old, a senior in high school, and I got a job after football season this year in November. I have been into Honda's since I was 15 when my brother gave me a CRX. When I turned 16 I bought a 1993 Civic EX coupe for $800. It was nearly perfect except it needed axles. This summer it blew a headgasket, so I needed another car. I bought a 1995 Civic DX coupe which had a D16Z6 swap from a Del Sol in it. I got that for $1250, which is a steal because it has no rust, low miles on the engine (under 80,000) and it has a perfect interior.

Anyway, I decided to build a turbo kit. My job pays about $800 a month so I set a budget for $1500 total cost for parts on this turbo kit. Every 2 weeks I buy some new parts. Here is what I have so far:

1.) Intercooler - eBay bar & plate design

2.) Piping/Clamps/Couplers - eBay silicone couplers and decent clamps
3.) Oil Line Kit - FastTurbo complete kit

4.) BOV - eBay Type RS
5.) Vacuum Mani. - Golden Eagle vacuum manifold

6.) Oil Sandwich Adap. - eBay oil sandwich adapter (may switchto a greddy one)
7.) Catch Can - OBX catch can
8.) Downpipe - eBay one with flexpipe
9.) Fuel Pump - Walbro 255lph fuel pump
My budget is $1500, and all that is roughly $750. I still need to find a turbo, manifold, injectors, and other misc. parts. I am buying DSM 450cc injectors in a few days so I will add that to the list. This project has been going on since November and this post is just to catch you up on it. I plan to be done by May, and after I get it tuned I will be sure to post a video and lots of pictures. All feedback is great so say what you want about my project.

Ya I know all the eBay stuff isnt the best, but im trying to save money where I can. I want to run a good turbo/manifold, since they are very important parts that I cant cheap out on. I am trying to get this turbo: http://www.kcsr.org/viewtopic.php?t=187771or something similar.
Not a bad deal for that turbo. I would suggest getting an oem turbo. Cheap and pretty reliable. It would also better fit your budget.
I think you're forgetting about your engine management, thats probably the most important part. Without a good tune, you won't go anywhere.
