theyre not a buisness. well...not technically. theyre just a bunch of guys who got together to build cars, then started getting famous for 1) the fact that they have the worlds fastest N/A rotary and 2) their Si civic. then people wanted to get their cars tuned, so they started doing it to make money for their projects.

and a lot more when built. theres also a video out there of the CFT civic racing an SRT10 and destroying it. then theres a conversation between the civic driver and the viper driver and the viper driver is bewildered that its not juiced

thats a grand total of...drumroll please. 11k. considering the poverty line is at 20k a year...im sure most people could pull it off.

you have yet to prove that it wasnt racing. and that car is a nut busting car for ANY car...not just a civic.

you just contridicted yourself. you said all we can do is nitrous, then said we can turbo but it costs big money. well the fact is neither is true. you can get into the 13s on a bone stock D series engine and a turbo w/ a good tune for 3k tops

what puzzles me is when i see a conversation and on one hand we have car X...........and on the other hand we have car Z.

Now car X is basicly stock............and car Z, has an engine that has been taken apart, put back togather with new componets, an induction system of some type, pcm adjustments made, the car has headers, and exhaust, and intake, and suspension mods galore.

Then car x races car Z..........and car Z wins. Then we hear "car Z is a so and so, and those type of cars are fast man..........real fast".

Ummmmmmmm it would seem to me, that what is fast are the combintaion of parts you put togather from Jeggs, and happened to put inside of a metal shell with car z's logo on the side.

You could take those same parts and install them into car X and now car X would be fast.

It would seem that after a point in time you are no longer racing car x vs car z..........you are racing page 39 in jeggs vs page 57 in jeggs.

Whoa OK I hadn't actually watched the video until now, and it seems pretty obvious to me that they were racing. First off, at the beginning of the video it shows the supra racing another civic (it actually might just be a video from another car of the actual race later on in the video), so obviously the supra is out racing people. Second, they seem to know the guy since they have TroyB Supra come up on the video, so it wasn't just some random guy driving on the highway. Third, there's a guy in the supra holding a video camera, and fourth, the civic doesn't pull on the supra like you said. The supra hangs with the civic while it is spinning its tires, and for about 5 seconds after he shifts, and then the civic pulls on him like a mother, at which point I'm assuming he gives up and he really falls behind. Not to mention you can hear the supras motor while the civics tires are spinning.

OK I'm done, get back to talking about bizz's and Car X and whatnot.

 

We forget that the cost of Car Z to build is dramatically less than the cost of Car X stock. Car Z (civic) costs in area of 18k to build. Car X runs you in the 25k-30k range. THe point is that the Civic has a lot of potential.
