2002 Civic Front Struts
Hi All,
Just got my timing and water pump done at the dealer for $600. I got all the other belts and coolant as well, not a bad price because all the local shops wanted $900-$1000.
Anyway, they gave me a laundry list of things they wanted to do with the car. First off, the front struts. I have 131k on the car now and the struts do seem shot. I was thinking about getting the strut with the spring already installed so I can just swap them out. What do you experts think?
I do not have the time or tools to just get new struts and put the old springs back on. Should I try and take it to a local shop and buy some tokio blues everyone is talking about and have them install?
Thanks for your input.

Thanks for the information. Does anyone have any suggestions on complete spring and strut set up for the front of the car, left and right sides? What brand name should I be looking for and price range?
I don't want something crap, I just did water pump and timing and expect to get 90k out of it.
Need to change the tranny fluid too, any DIY information on that. It's a 5 speed and I'm sure it would like some fresh fluids to go along with the synthetic I just put in there.
