I would say that if its 8" in width it will probably rub a little when you take real hard turns, or cut it like in a parking lot, but I am honestly not sure.
I put a set of 18x8's on my civic at one time and it rubbed not only top but sides also, they were 8" in width.
I just ordered some 16x7's, I am really hoping they don't rub. They will be here in the morning and I will re-post if they do. I would think that 7" width would be almost pushing the boundaries as it is, but I am sure you might be able to get them on there, might take a little modding to the fenderwells.
