break question

alright gots a few questions.
so i took my car in because i was getting this strange rattle randomly and come to find out my front right caliper was Seizing up, and its pretty much bad. SO i need a new one

Now i assume i dont have abs... how would i tell for sure though.. I have a 95 honda civic ex coupe.
bought it used

now when i buy calipers online i keep see the place refer to a Core...whats that lol

as far as finding out if its abs, it will be in your product manual or your dealer would know for sure...

as far as your second question... can you elaborate on that a little?

First of all, break is when you stop working or when u make something not work that once did work. Brake however, is the thing tha stops your car. I think that EXs come with ABS, i think u can check in the engine bay, there is gonna be this box thing that has brake lines coming from it. I'm pretty sure that is some sort of ABS control unit, it might even have "ABS" written on it. A core refers to when you buy a part (i think a remanufactured part), you have to give the part that was on your car that was broken back. The company is gonna fix that part and sell it to someone else. So you pay a core charge and when you send/give the caliper to the company, you will recieve the core charge back.

to see if u have abs
1 sit in your
2 put your key in the ignition & turn the key on
3 look at your dash lights
4 do you see a light that comes on & says ABS
5 if so -- u have ABS -- if not-- u dont

ha.. i dont have abs.. and i have an ex swap.. and supposedly everything got swapped over.. now im wondering if i buy brakes for my 94 civic..or my 93 civic.. i think its all the same anyway... but i know i dont have abs and yes..there is a lil light that comes on when i turn on the car that says i do...but i dont

thats weird that the light doesnt stay on then... saying that you have a problem.
