Check out my great treadware!
ORIGINAL: Forty04
The recommended psi numbers for your vehicle do not apply to aftermarket/performance tires. I have ~39psi in my rears

ya as funny as it sounds I checked the tire when i was rotating it when i took this picture...well, it was at 30 psi, right on the dot where it has to be? Thats strange huh? Plus the driver side was not as bad at all, so im thinking, well i dunno

By monitoring your tire's tread depth (you can do this with some inexpensive dial calipers at Harbor Freight tools or other discount tool store) periodically, you'll be able to tell if the tires are over or under-inflated. Even manufacturer's recommended pressures (on the door sticker) can be incorrect, sometimes with the OEM tires, too.
Also, since this was brought up, most people do not have to change oil every 3000 miles. That number came from 30 years ago when oils were not nearly as sophisticated as they are now. If using petroleum-based oil, 5 months or 5000 miles is just fine for most types of driving. If you don't drive often and use synthetic oil, you can wait one year or 12,000 miles, max.
Thanks guys. Ya my oil gets changed every 5k miles. And even though the tire is at the psi it says its sposd to be at, well I guess its not enough cause my tire looks like this! hahah. So Ill fill her up a little more, maybe bump it up to 35 psi and see how that works
UPDATE!
Well it seems you guys were right. I was rotating my GF's MR2 at the same time as my civic. I guess I got the psi mixed up, hers are 30psi (and thats what they are at) mine are 44psi and they were at 30psi.Almost a 3rd less then what they are sposed to be at! [&:][&:]Now I remember telling the guy whenever I got my oil change "can you make sure the tires are at 30psi" .....so ya. My bad..crap!!![:@]
