Civic EX coupe drum to disc brake conversion?

Default Civic EX coupe drum to disc brake conversion?

Drum to disc rear brakes conversion for an Civic Ex '00 coupe,is there such a thing?

yes, you're in luck! I believe that you can either use a disk brake setup from a 94-2001 integra or another civic from 92 to 2000 (I think the older ones are the same brakes as the newer ones... Not quite sure I own a 94 civic.)

If all Civics are the same in the rear from 92-00 this would be awesome. There is a guy close to me that has a completely rebuilt brake set up from an earlier model Civic 92-95, don't know how much $ though, I would just need booster and master cylinder. Can anyone confirm this? I have only read that the non-ABS Tegi rear brakes will work.

I've only heard about the integra one. But is there really a need for that? Unless you're going to be moving really really fast there's no point. As a daily driver you'll never have to worry about that drum especially with how little the car weighs.

Some people just don't like drums. They generally don't brake as well wet. They usually don't look as nice. They often don't have as many upgrade parts available. They're almost always more of a pain to check. They're usually more of a pain to replace too.

I'm finishing installing a 2000 Civic Si suspension under my 96 DX. The rear disc swap is fairly easy. Howerever, you need to make sure your master cylinder is the larger 7/8 size. Since the Si and EX front brakes are the same size, you may already have the correct cylinder. I recommend putting it up to where you can easily crawl underneath it as you'll also have to run your emergency brake cables. Piece of cake.
