on tokico illuminas with several complications. Firstly, I had to order a new front fork but the idiot sent me passenger side, so it rubs when i make sharp right turns.

Secondly, the front passenger side sagged way down for some reason so I raised that coilover about 1-1.5 inch higher so it would match the drivers side. Rides very nice, so i dont think that the shock is blown...but i donno. I learned my lesson however, never going to buy used shocks again.

I'm liking the look of the car. Better stance. But damn thats a lot of sidewall on those tires. Needs tire shine to make them darker!

Did you color match those rims?

i dont like the huge sidewalls on hx wheels. but i'm using 195 60 14 tires on my set of hx. i think it looks better than the stock 185 65 14

 

nope, the rims are sprayed silver, prolly just the lighting makes them look gold.

Yeah, they are 185/65/14's. but they have like 80% tread and I am in no situation to buy new tires for myself right now. when I need new ones ill prolly go 60 instead of 65.

my next project after replacing the fork will be to repaint my grill because the paint got all messed up somehow.

how many cans of tire shine would all 4 take? and how often do you have to apply it?

I'm not sure. They might be ebay's, but they are VERY stiff, and i have heard ebay coilovers are usually really soft. However If there was a brand name its all worn off.

 

There's the foam stuff you just spray on and then there's the liquid stuff you spray on and wipe down with a towel. One can of whatever lasts awhile, you can easily redo 10+ times.

 

tire shine is cheap and last awhile. wash the tires and spray it on or spray it on after a carwash when parked. tire shine is good but defiantly read the cans and stuff and read for NON SLINGING! and dont spray the wheels and then go for a drive even with the non slinging stuff. its best if the shine gets soaked in and dry into the tire before you drive then it seems to last longer and more even.
i like the ones that have 3 settings for spray from low profile, med to wide spray. makes it better for applying different size tires.
and now that your lowered you always wanna spray it on and then wipe your cars fenders down so that stuffs not on the paint or it MIGHT damage the paint, but mostly look bad. so take a towel with ya and wipe off the paint and rim from overspray.
and your shocks probably sit lower due to the AUTOMATIC at least ive read that before since manuals weigh less which is on the passenger side.

 

The uneven height might be either from uneven surface from initial install/setting and/or also if you set one corner height at a time. From my experience, you need to set all 4 corners height, then measure, then adjust all four corners accordingly. If you set one corner, drop the car then set another corner, I've noticed the height on the sleeves tend to be off.

 

o ya setup always sucks but thats the beauty of adjustable. not like just drop springs when you cannt adjust anything.
