Help an old friend out
Hey.
Got some shaking going on in the steering wheel and petals while the engine is under load. Mostly when im in 5th gear at 65-70 mph and accelerating. I figured tire balance. The tires were shot so I got new ones, and had an alignment done after. Helped a little. Struts are all new. Now that I look at the front motor mount (drivers side) it looks a little worn and there is slight play front and backward. Could this be the culprit? How much are these things supposed to move front to back? The front mount was from an integra, so it was used. The side mount is a hasport, so it def wont need replacement.

Did you get all four wheels balanced? One time, I had to bring my car back three times for bad wheel balancing, and they still didn't get it right. Found a better mechanic who nailed it perfectly the first time. I wrote a letter to the area supervisor of the "bad" shop. He refunded my money and also paid for the good balance done by the second "good" mechanic.
Anyway, I wouldn't think that even a completely shot front mount would cause the vibration you are describing. How do the rear and transmission mounts look?
Another possibility would be a bad axle.

This sounds like a bad axle to me, especially if all but the front driver's mount are fine.

I just dont see how it would roll smoothly when in Neutral. The tie rods were all replaced. I just dont have the time to try and troubleshoot everything. Might let my mech look at it for a free consultation.

If its riding smooth while in neutral, then Im going to say the mounts must be worse than you can really see, or they are not properly torqued down. I couldnt see any suspension parts only acting up while on the gas.

It sounds like a bad axle to me as well. Has it been checked for any loose play or side motion? Sometimes the vibration isn't noticeable until a certain vibration frequency (such as on the interstate). And does your steering wheel itself have any play in it? Sometimes it's the steering system itself if the car has many miles because the forces acting on it are greater at higher speeds. have power steering?
