HELP on wheels!

so let me get it straight..
ur suggestion is to do a neg camber adjustment to counter tire-rub;
but then it would come at a sacrifice of the tires b/c of the angled-camber-adjustment...

well... in less extreme cases you can "fix" it with negative camber. But your tire size is SO FAR OFF you will not be able to fix it. And what looks like "camber wear" on your tires is usually from bad toe settings, not bad camber settings.
Your tire size is onlu off half an inch taller on the top, but a 1 inch taller total compared to what is spec-ed for the car. stock heigth is 24 inch diameter while the 205/55/16s are 24.9 inch diameter. That is not much of a difference, but you did say you lowered the car. Now offset comes in to play. if you like your wheels here is some easy fixes, before you go out and buy new wheels or tires.
What are the tires rumping on? If it is the fender well...roll the fenders some. This will give you room while saving you a big expense. Also it will prevent the metal from cutting the tires up. You could always relign the front suspension, but I would but a neg chamber on your car. See if they can just mover everything in like .25 of an inch. That could help.
If you are rubbing on the plastic lining on the inside fender well, you could cut it, but you would risk throwing water on the motor and maybe getting it in the Air Box. You also want to make sure it is not rubbing on any wires/lines. this could cost you some cash to fix if you catch it too late.

thanks for the advice..
the left front was rubbing so i took the liberty to cut the wheel-well plastic a bit off the front,
then went back to the tire shop and they generously swapped the 55's for 40's!
the tires were kumho ecsta's 205/40/16's which were totally cool for $30 labor only.
now all i need to figure out is, if this is it or if i need to do anything interms of alignment..
i hope i don't have to!
here is how it looks now:
thanks for all your input and happy surfing!

I believe that your new combo is now smaller than stock (should have 45 aspect ratio), but that's better than having giant tires that scrape the wheel wells! Your speedometer may read slightly higher speeds than actual but again, no big deal.
