Need some info on coilovers
i have a 93 civic dx and i put brand new kyb struts and the old coil overs mushroomed over the struts and cracked. i was wondering what kind over coil overs would be the best for the quality and the ride height. i want it slammed to the ground or almost there because it is my daily driver after all. It don't really matter, its not a must have right now, I'm just bottoming out on the littlest bumbs and i just wanna know what a good coil over would be 2 put on there. I know megan racing has some with the whole tower and everything for 1050 i dont need all that. They have coil over for about 125 i think are they good?
That is just the sleeve and spring. Are you planning on doing this on stock struts?
I wouldn't lower more than 1" on stock suspension (if only changing out the springs). Even then, they will blow out prematurely. Slamming a car on cheap "eBay" sleeves will destroy your ride quality, and your OEM suspension.
I suggest you do some research. You know you will need an alignment afterwards, right? Do you know why you would need an alignment?
As far as "good" brands... I would suggest Tien, D2, Skunk2 (a little harsh, but not a bad company), Omni, Ksport, KYB, possibly others. Maybe some other members can get in here with some suggestions for ya.

If bottoming out, rubbing, and scraping is a concern, I don't think you want to go low enough to necessitate coilovers. If you only want a 1"-2" drop, look into either Tein H-techs (around a 1" drop) or Tein S-techs (a little under a 2" drop). They're both coil springs, not coilovers, and they both preserve a good bit of ride quality.
And myself as well as several other members have proven you can DD the crap out of a slammed car (my old '94 EX had 2" of ground clearance at the oil pan), it just takes some getting used to.
