can't go wrong with www.tirerack.com

if you've got a civic ex, there are these rims for sale
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/resul...erSpecial=true

if tires, check out
general and kumho tire's as they are rated 1st and 8th respectively for overall performance.
they're really well priced too!

^i'm doing the exact same thing, i'm probably reducing unsprung weight by about 40-45 lb.
screw the unsprung weight.

what's really important is that you're reducing rotating mass, which not only reduces overall curb weight, but should also help your handling and acceleration.
since i'm running 17's now, i'll be decreasing the weight radius and decreasing the amount of torque required to accelerate the wheel, so smaller diameter wheel and lighter wheel ='s YaY. and the only way to reduce 40-45 lbs. of unsprung weight is in the wheel/tire combo, all other unsprung weight doesn't affect the performance as much as the components directly connected to the drivetrain.

Yup, the loss of rotating weight i think is the biggest deal. Kinetic energy= rotational plus linear energy, the more energy stored in the rotation of a heavier wheel, the less stored linearly (speed)

< Head just exploded.

A smaller diameter wheel will also help you out of a dig when drag racing.

it's not complicated, it's just that a larger wheel produces a larger kinetic energy because of the weight distribution is farther from the axis, which is why larger wheels tend to perform better than smaller wheels at highway driving
