Default newbie lowering question????

I have been reading the recommendations to lower the car before adding new wheels. Does this relate to "wheel gap"? I am a little confused about how this all works.

I'm thinking of putting on 17" wheels to give my car a more strealined look, and dropping it seems attractive too. I don't want anything drastic either way, I like the understated look. A little advice or explination?

yeah, "wheel gap" is the space between your tire and your fender. You don't have to do one before the other really, it's up to you. If you have some ideas about wheels, post a request in the Chop Shop section, and we'll do it up for you in Photoshop.

Grooooovy! Have I mentioned how much this forum rocks?!?! I'll have to get back to you on the wheels...so many to chose from...

I like to make a statement without making one, ya know? Plus I'm coming from the domestic school of c.i. and chrome and its tired. I'd like to go matte silver or dark (gunmetal) and stay in the 5 or 7 spoke category. I'm not going to be racing or dragging so I dont need anything high tech, just quality for a good price. I was thinking of a wider profile too.

Any suggestions?

soo many choices..ahahha.

how mcuh are you wanting to spend? rotas are usually pretty cheap, you could even pick up a set of used si's which look great on red civics imo.

+1 for Rota Slipstreams, and a set of Tein S-techs will lower your car about 1.8 inches, which, with what youve got planned, should look pretty hott.

I personally prefer the Rota Torque wheels. They look like the OEM BBS wheels on the Evo MR.

On your wheels, it depends on your cars color. I have seen certain rims that don't help a cars look. Mine seem to match the vehicle, so keep that in mind, match your color.
