Default Newbie question: hubcaps on a '95 civic?

Hello,

I just got my first car ever, a red 1995 Civic DX Sedan. I know practically nothing about cars, since I'm just starting out - so I apologize in advance for being a newbie!

My Civic has wheels that look just like this:

However, they are really pretty corroded and awful looking, despite how great looking the body of the car is. The question is, can I just buy some hubcaps off Ebay or something that say they are for a 95 Civic, and install them? I was wondering about something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...#ht_2205wt_833

I don't even know what the deal is with the rims on my civic now - I assume those are the actual wheels, and that there are no hubcaps. So, can I just put some hubcaps on if I want it to look nicer?

Any help would be appreciated, I'm just getting started on the adventure of having my own car.

-R

Those aren't actually OEM Honda hub caps. You can buy some $15 WalMart 14 inch hubcaps. They'll do fine and they're basically the same.

Those are actual rims, called "steelies" in the Honda world. They're the basic lame rims that come with most Hondas. You have to make sure your lug nuts have the extra plastic ring on them to put OEM Honda hubcaps on. Otherwise, most aftermarket ones have spring tension rings that hold them to the rim.

Ok, so it's easy to just buy some aftermarket ones and stick them on? I don't need to get the OEM hubcaps, just want to clean up the look. Is there anything besides the 14" specification that has to match my civic specifically, or will any 14" hubcap fit?

Thanks for the help so far!

if your steelies are 14" then pretty much any 14" hubcaps would fit. they just pop right on, don't need to be specifically for civics.

double check the size on your wheels though. i think they are 13" instead. to check this check your tires. it should have a number that looks like 175/70/13 but that last number is your wheels size

I'll definitely check on the size- don't want to get the wrong ones.

Thanks for the info, I'm glad to know I can just buy pretty much anything!
