offset question plz help

Default offset question plz help

i found a good deal on a set16 in.wheels i really like. im not sure about the offset though. its 40 so does that mean i will have rubbing issues if i drop it? and do i need to use hub rings? any help would be appreciated.
p.s. i did read the faq, i just couldn't find the exact answer i needed.

4x100, with a 40 offset will be fine I had this offset on my 97 civic coupe.

Depends on the width of the wheel too, not just the offset
