Rear Wheel Disc Conversion- DONE!
Ok I've got to get the pics uploaded and a DIY going, but it was basically a direct swap. take off a couple of bolts. remove cat-back exhaust, take apart the e-brake assembly on the interior, and remove the e-brake cables. put the new ones on and reverse order of removing parts for installation. Oh yeah, I also had to replace my master cylinder because of the way the drums are, it splits the braking power differrently than the disc. so I just got a remanufactured one for 75 bucks from kragen. It's got a lifetime warranty, so, I'm not worried. Replaced the master cyl. in about 10-15 minutes, used a good liter or two of brake fluid to flush and bleed the brakes. Sand blasted the rotors, and turned them. Got new pads for the rear, and I was good to go. I also put a sway on the rear. OH MAN! What a difference that swaybar makes! Not to mention I can deffinately notice a difference in stopping power with the discs. I know for sure now that I'll be getting front swaybars! Then I'll see about strut and tie bars. But I am very pleased with them, they look better too. I just got a super big boost of confidence in my little baby! I Think her and I will be going to enter in the Indy500 next year! YIPEEE!!!!
