So in the spring, if i get a carwash (with undercarriage wash) and some PB blaster, do you think i'll still need air tools?

and just to make sure....are the spring compressors just used to compress the spring so that you can start tightening down the bolt back down and you dont have to hold the spring yourself (which seems like it would be impssible)?

You can rent them from autozone for like forty bucks, then when you return it they give you the forty back.

I tried doing my carlast spring then i hit the LCA bolts. I got one out in my uncles shop using his air tools. The other wouldnt budge. It was only my second mod to any car and I thought it was pretty easy skill wise. Its just those damned bolts. Im going to do it this summer and just replace the whole rear suspension basically. Id look into a camber kit also, your tires wear really fast without one.

Depends, you don't always NEED one, but it depends on the drop. Its always reccomended to get one, but not a necessity on some drops because they don't make the tires wear too bad.

i did it myself...took a rediculous amount of time..i was working on it in the dark for like 6 hrs or something, and part way we F'ed up a bolt that was holding my rear shock in, so we had to run to the store at night to buy a replacement...LOL!

but yeah, if you do choose to do it yourself, you can go to autozone...u can borrow a spring compressor free of charge and everything...
