My mechanic told me that I needed to change the rack and pinion on my car... he said its pretty bad because the power steering fluid is leaking... i called a couple of places for the rack and pinion and the prices are crazy, about 400 through Honda and 200 aftermarket... i found a junk yard that has it for about 75 and it has 6 months warrenty except the tie rods... the only problem is that they are calling power steering rack and pinion... is it the same thing... im use to calling it rack & pinion... can anybody help me... is it a good deal or not...

 

sounds like their the same, but dont quote me...i would ask the mech... will your mech install whatever part you get? if so, have him contact the junkyard and double check if he will.

I think they're the same thing, but I'd check with a mechanic to be on the safe side.
