Slipstream offset

Slipstream offset
I have some general rim/tire questions...
I want to order a set of 15 x 7.5 Rota Slipstreams, but I am not sure about what offset to get. The rim I want they only have 40mm offset. Will I need to use spacers with this rim or will it look alright? Also what size tires should I get with these rims? 205/50/15s?
Its dropped 1.5 inches.
I've been bouncing around getting 15 or 16s. I was told 16 x 7.5 will rub with my 1.5" drop so I am leaning toward 15s.
Thanks for your help.

I'm willing to bet with that size and offset the wheels will rub. The problem mainly lies in the wheel width; 7.5" is a pretty wide wheel for a civic. A +40mm offset isn't usually enough to clear a 7" wheel with a 205 tire (normally with a +40 the fenders need rolled), and I'm fairly certain a +40mm offset on a 7.5" wheel will rub, even with 205 wide tires.
The spacers would only push the wheels out more, causing the wheels to stick out of the fenders and rub even more. I'd suggest either 16x7's with 205/45-16 or 195/50-16 tires or 15x7's with 205/50-15 or 195/55-15 tires, assuming you still have a +40 or +45mm offset.
