Spring Rate Options...
Im about to order a new suspension setup. I have a really stiff coiloversetup right now that was on the car whenI got it and have no clue what brand it is. I hate it. Every bump makes me bounce out of the seat it seams like. I looked at the DropZone coilover set but heard it was really stiff. I know Ground Controls are supposed to be great but are they stiff or comfortable? If I can find a slightly cushy coilover Im going to end up going with the Tein S-Techs and Tokico's. But id rather have the adjustability of coilovers.

RE: Spring Rate Options...
My current car is an EJ8 coupe (96 Civic EX) and my previous was a 94 Civic EX coupe. On my current car, I bought it with MAXZONE shocks and some NEUSPEED yellow springs (not sure what spring rate) and I absolutely HATE it [:@] [:'(] [] . It bounces [sm=massbounce.gif]around like there's no tomorrow. I mean it's notbouncy like CUT SPRINGS, but it's too soft to the point where my tires rub on the insides of my fenders when I go over dips and bumps.
The setup I had on my EG coupe were TOKICO HP shocks and a set of SKUNK2 springs.... and I LOVED it [sm=smiley27.gif]. The ride was fairly stiff but the handling was amazing!! Granted I had front and rear strut bars but I could corner a hell of a lot faster then my 96 coupe. I also have front and rear strut bars on my car now, but I don't feel as comfortable cornering in it as I did in my previous car.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that... if you want SOFT and want a little bounce... buy the Maxzone shocks and a set of decent springs. If you want a good ride and better handling... but the Tokico HPs and Skunk2 springs.
Just my .02 cents....

RE: Spring Rate Options...
I dont want soft...I just dont want to feel like im riding on bricks. My car now is as stiff as I could see a car getting. Its aweful. Im going to put 16s or 17s on it in the summer so Im only looking to drop about 2 inches...maybe even a little less. Thats why I was thinking S-Techs and Tokicos. And everyone says they are stiffer than stock but not too stiff. Has anyone has experience with Megan Coilovers? I like Megans products so far.

RE: Spring Rate Options...
yes, but a lot on how the car rides depends on the shocks. if you got the GC's on their standard rates(380/280), Koni Yellows or KYB AGX shocks will allow for a pretty smooth ride and still handle better than the s-techs. 400/350 is fairly stiff, maybe a little much if ur driving will just be spirited street driving. to give u an idea of the difference on the s-techs, their rates are 235/140. pretty soft comparatively, which is why they work alright with stock shocks and offer a smooth ride.

RE: Spring Rate Options...
Its just a DD that I might start taking to the track every now and then once I do the motor swap this summer. Im getting the Tokico HPs, I had them on my last civic and liked them. Still undecided as of now on the springs or coilovers I want. I think I might want to go a little stiffer than S-Techs. Any suggestions?

RE: Spring Rate Options...
I decided im going with the Tokico HPs and either Eibach Sportlines or Neuspeed Sports. Both are similar in price range and spring rates...Eibachs are 310F/275R and the Neuspeeds are 280F/180R. Its a hatchback so im deciding on which would be better for the rear....stiffer or softer?
