Springs, Good or Bad?!?!?!?!?
I am hiving a huge debate on wether to install new springs or not. Ive got a '00 ex coupe with 17' rims and low pro's. Ive heard both good and bad. The bad is that installing new springs willincrease wheel rub,and it will decrease the resale value. The good is that,of course it will increase handling, also your braking will improve.
Anyone who has a new suspension, if you could give me your opinion on what I should do, and if these facts are true or false???

wheel rub depends on how much you lower it. i have 1.8 in lowering springs an i never have rubbed yet and i have 17's with 40 trim tires. Springs are good for look and a nice ride but coilovers give you better performance.
as far as wheel rub, if you lower it an inch, there should be no wheel rub at all, i'm lowered 2.5" and barely have any wheel rub. as far as resale value being affected, it all depends on the buyer and if the buyer wants that done, if so, it shouldn't hurt the resale value as long as you go with a good name brand. I'm about to install a set of ksports on mine and go back to about a 1.5" drop, 2.5" is just too low and not a great ride with 205/40R17. with 16's the ride will be a lot better.
well, i'm going the practical way, i want an inch to 1.5 drop because i have a lip on the front of my car so i have trouble driving it sometimes where i live. 2.5 is just too low, but 1.5 should be fine for what you want (balance of performance and comfort)
