Default Squeeking when you are turning your steering wheel.

Hello all, I got a 92 civ, and just slowly almost done fixing up all the crappy stuff on it lol.. but inside the car is a squeeking noise when ever i turn the steering wheel..seems like it's only to the left and not sure, would the shaft need some lub or something like that, or is there a method of getting that noise gone? thx..hit me up. I'll find out some html codes so i can introduce you the noise and a vid where it's coming from in the car.....all help is appreciated thx..

My moms car had some sqeeking noise too(usually when it is cold outside) so i just sprayed wd40 in there and turned the wheel a couple of times and the noise was gone.

yup wd40 should do it, i had the same prob, especially when it gets cold out. i dont have power steering and it did it so i dont think thats your problem bud. just spray some wd40 and call it a day.

just use the extension piece that comes with the can and just squeeze it between the plastic cover by your gauge cluster and all and just spray a little bit in there

mines been doing that for a long time now. only does it occasionally and normally in the mornings or after the car has been sitting for a while. for as long as i can remember it making that sound, the steering hasnt been effected in any way. it could just be a plastic piece rubbing agenst something...either way its not that big of a deal
